The screen’s mesh size allows plastic pellets to flow through the screen, while the streamers and bird’s nests are kept back. These streamers are then transported to the streamer discharge by means of the drum rotation in conjunction with a targeted airstream. This airstream is applied locally to the surface of the screen, cleaning away any streamers that adhere to screen openings during operation.
